Out of the mouth of the Babe (at 14 months):
"Shoe-shoes": She loves shoes. She points to them and sticks out her lips in the most adorable way to say "shoe-shoes". She will find her shoes, when requested, and she knows which ones match. She does not like to take them off.
"BA": This sound means "bath". She loves to get in the bath. One day, she helped herself into the tub before mom could undress her.
"Buhhh": This means "bye-bye" and is always accompanied by a wiggle and a giggle of excitement, and a waving hand.
"wfff, wff": The sound a puppy makes. She is quite good at hearing neighborhood dogs, and is always quick to respond with her own "wfff".
"ummhh" Usually accompanied by a book in hand, this sound means "read to me". She loves to bring books and nuzzle her way into your lap.
Her non-verbal communication includes baby sign language for "more", "cookie" and "please", as well as "finished, all done", and "brush teeth". Her most amusing form of communication occurs when someone forgets to buckle her into her highchair. Every time she will stand up, smile pleasantly, and sign "sit down".
She is so smart!

My 14 month old son says "gck-gck" for dog (or maybe its our dog's name Copper), and now I think it means "animal" because he says it whenever he sees dogs, cats or ducks!
