Lettuce, green onions, cilantro...perfect.
The high humidity is making me wilt, but it is doing wonders for my thriving garden. We have been picking fresh lettuce, spinach, green onions, radishes, and some herbs to add to our table every day. They are sooo delish. There something so satisfying about picking fresh yummies grown in my own yard.
This year we planted a square foot garden, which is basically a raised bed with a simple soil mix. I have found it to be an amazingly simple way to garden- and so easy to take care of. Much less watering, and much less weeding- and those weeds that do grow (we have many lovely elm trees around our property that are very generous in sharing their seeds) slide right out with my fingers. No hoe needed! The soil stays very loose and easy for the little plants to flourish. We have corn about 7 inches tall already!
Plus, the square foot garden is just very cute to look at. It looks so neat and tidy. Even D will look out the window and say "Pretty. Garden." She is so pretty too, isn't she?? :)
