For J's 6th birthday, we promised him a Bible of his very own. For various reasons, we were just this weekend able to fulfill that promise to him. We went and picked out a very basic Bible- he did not want one with pictures, or a lot of extra stuff that so many "kids" Bibles have, and we encouraged his choice of something simply God's Word.
It has been one of my most thrilling "mommy moments" to watch him devouring God's word on his own. He loves to curl up on the couch, or climb up in the back yard "fort" and read his Bible. He told me he wants to read it every day. During his free reading time J has read up through Genesis 7, periodically reading aloud to his younger siblings. And what a great example he is to his brother- who runs right behind him trying to read, too. They have come to share some new discoveries with me like "Mom, did you know how old Noah really was when he built the ark?" And "Wow, the directions for the ark are all right here!"
It is a great privilege to be a keeper of the home. This blog is my tribute to the joy of motherhood, the peacefulness of home living, and the beauty of family life.

The Sweetest Moments in Life
"How sweet are Thy words to my taste! Yes, sweeter than honey..." Psalm 119:103
Oh, the wonder of discovery. And oh, the wonder of HIS WORD!
