Good Work

What fantastic first grade work! He read aloud a story about George Washington in our reading book , and then he copied this sentence as our handwriting practice for the day. Of coarse, the opportunity to draw a picture was great incentive for my budding artist. He insisted on researching what kind of hat George Washington wore, so we jumped online and found these pictures. In the process we discussed Mount Vernon, the presidents on paper dollars, and various wars in the United States. Later this afternoon he sculpted a head of Washington out of playdough. Oh, learning is so much fun!
