Bird Cake

Josiah's request for a birthday cake with a bird on it seemed fitting-- since we have been studying birds so much lately. He asked for a simple bird, outlined in blue.

Yellow layer cake... strawberry slices in the middle... blueberry border... carrot beak and feet... mint leaf branches. It turned out cute.

Josiah's other request was to share the celebration with his uncle who came to visit for the week. Fitting, too, since their birthdays are only one day apart!
