Last weekend--SUCCESS.
Things to remember for the next time:
Keep them small, personal sized pizzas, for easy flipping.
Cut open half an onion and rub the open end all over the cooking greats. I read this tip for cooking burgers on the grill, but figured it couldn't hurt to try for other cooking either! (This technique is suppose to prevent food from sticking to the grates.)
Roll pizzas insided, place on cookie sheets brushed with olive oil for carrying down to the fire pit.
Cook over very hot coals, one side, until bubbles form. Flip it over and cook just until done (not brown).
Remove onto clean cookie sheet and quickly spread with sauce, toppings and cheese. Return to the grate to let cheese melt.

YUMMMM! Tesa! You did it... those look so good. What dough recipe did you use?
These look amazing...and easy to eat! Did the kids like them? I know, what a foolish question.
Congrats on getting the gutters up.
Those are delicious!! We do those on the regular old grill but it looks like 100x more fun to do it over a firepit!!
