Oh, the wonder of "story paper"--that elementary lined school paper with a big blank canvas at the top for illustrating your writing. Free printable copies are available all over online... and we have made great use of that resource. The older two use it for writing out handwriting, copywork, or dictation and then have the freedom to illustrate it as they envision. It is quite possible that they will think "Language
Arts" is called that because they are allowed to
draw pictures for nearly every one of their lessons...

Even 4yo L does a "story page". She draws a picture, and then quotes a sentence about it which I write down for her. She has become quite the little artist lately... it's fun to watch.

These will be great to keep in their portfolios for the school year.
