Our little chicks are looking like chickens these days. It's hard to believe that 7 weeks ago they were the little balls of fluff that we brought home in one small little box from the farm store. Now they are learning to forage and eat up our weeds and bugs...making fertilizer for our garden...and in a couple of months hopefully they will make our breakfast!
Tallulah is curious and our most friendly bird.

With a little coaxing, some of the birds will eat out of your hand.
Cayenne has feathers the color of cayenne pepper.
Chick`let is one of the laziest birds. She likes to hang out by the feeder.
Little Red has been one of our smallest birds, but she's a spunky one!
So far, our backyard chicken project has been so much fun. These birds are so much fun to watch, easy to care for, and they add a unique charm to our backyard. We have four different variety of chickens, all of which have had easy temperaments as backyard flock. We are learning as we go. All of us are excited for the day when they will begin laying! (Maybe in September?)

I'm sure you are all learning, and having fun doing it. They have all survived, and I'm sure the eggs will be coming!
